Yes, when I started study of guitar years ago. Saw Segovia.
Now I really can't sit down and play guitar anymore after a weird injury exacerbated...
Luckily I can stand and play, praise the good Lord.
And luckier still that it doesn't affect my ability to play , to sit and play piana.
Classical guitar is fabulous, although ive never seen it played standing....
Oh, it can be played standing with a strap like an electric or by using a stand to hold the guitar in place while you play. Both, obviously, require modifications but doable.
